Joseph Martin of Burbage.
48th Foot. Peninsular War veteran.
MGSM with 4 clasps for, Talavera, Busaco, Ciudad Rodrigo and Badajoz. He lived in Burbage, Leicestershire and was still living in 1886. Possibly also a prisoner of war.
The Military General Service Roll shows that he is the Joseph Martin of the 48th Foot, and his medal was in the Oakley Collection in 1953.
PoW at Valciennes, having been captured on 19 September 1812. (ADM 103/646).
