Local Waterloo men.
I was asked if it was known if any local men were at Waterloo and if so, where they stood.
There were 25 in total, the units and hence location of 19 are known. 4 were in the Heavy Cavalry, 5 in the Artillery (3 in the Horse Artillery, 1 in the Foot and 1 in the Rocket Troop) and 10 in the Infantry (2 in the Guards, 3 in the Rifles and 5 in the Line).
Interestingly all 10 Infantry men also fought at the battle of Quatre Bras on the 16th and all the Cavalry and 4 of the Artillery were present at the Rearguard action at Genappe on the 17th.
